GriefWorkshops™ originated by Sherry Russell BCBT BCETS
The Catch a Falling Life™ is a ground-breaking advancement for those living with loss and crisis. These pioneering and productive workshops are designed to aid those living with loss and/or crisis to progress forward to enjoy a radiant life. Due to lack of keen support, people become wedged in their challenging life traumas. Necessary efficient and effective education for crisis is not easily found leaving many to suffer alone. The Workshops are a top quality educational series for laymen and professionals. They are not support groups. They do not require activity from those who attend. People are not forced out of their comfort zone to talk or interact. Working through grief and trauma takes time and not all people are comfortable spilling out their pained raw feelings with strangers. They do provide the freedom and flexibility for interaction with those who choose. The Workshops spotlight an understanding of what is happening to the physical, mental and emotional health and why. Professionals working with survivors of loss/crisis are faced with the changing family. In today’s culture, families are transient and live a hurried lifestyle. For many, the structure of the family has transformed. Considering the population of people over the age of 55 is increasing, it is essential to focus on the continuing needs and support of those in crisis. Providing a safe environment for expressing concerns, awareness to the toll on the body, mind and spirit, and providing solid information is a precious community service. The GriefWorkshops are presently used in Funeral and Cemetery Aftercare Programs, Community Outreach Programs and Hospice. They are intended for the following audiences:
